Die ultimative Rangliste der Jason Isbell Songs
Ist das Zeug Country-Musik? Rock? Folk? Eine absurde Mischform mit zwei Bindestrichen? Wirklich, Jason Isbells Musik entzieht sich oft dem Genre. Die Texte dieses Mannes sind wie dreieinhalb Minuten lange Romane oder Indie-Filme. Es wurde viel über Isbells zwei Post-Reha-Meisterwerke, „Southeastern“ von 2013 und „Something More Than Free“ von 2015, geschrieben. Und ihre klarsichtige Brillanz verdient Anerkennung (einschließlich der beiden Grammys). Aber es gibt auch Perlen auf allen fünf Solo-LPs von Isbell, ebenso wie auf der Musik, die er mit seiner früheren Band Drive-By Truckers gemacht hat. Da Isbell kürzlich mit der Arbeit an seinem sechsten Studioalbum begonnen hat, dachten wir, es wäre interessant, die vorhandenen Songs in seinem Katalog zu bewerten. (Live-Tracks und Coverversionen wurden allerdings ausgelassen.)
